This book is a self publishing student project. We interviewed three masters of traditional craftsmanship in Hong Kong, including hand-carved stamp art, handwritten Hong Kong minibus plates and letterpress print shop. Through rounds of interview, we are able to capture the master’s skills that preserves the beauty of traditional type and its deep ties with the reminiscence of Hong Kong values.
Oxford® paper were used to create the book jacket along with white and transparent UV print. We also used tracing paper as a special publication method between each chapter to emphasise on the illustration and master’s type work.
